No.217 - RIP Sir David Amess

Dear James.

I’ve just heard the awful new about Sir David Amess. It is a great tragedy for his family, friends and colleagues. More than that it is a great tragedy for us all.

The democratic process requires that all MPs are accessible to their publics wherever they are and for whatever reason their publics deem necessary. You are all at risk.

We all have our differences but those differences should never require the spilling of blood. That is one of the reasons we have a democracy. To allow all views and opinions to be expressed without the danger of violence.

I would like to thank you and all your colleagues in parliament for taking that risk. Without it we would have no democracy. Without it we would have no freedom.

Thank you all.

 RIP  Sir David Amess.

Kind regards,

BH - Your Concerned Constituent
